Is there anything better than bright, vivid colors? There is when you can make a bright, vivid card that doubles as a gift card holder! The Pocket Thoughts Dies are super simple tools to make perfect pockets in 3 sizes! Try it because you’re gonna love it!!

Don’t you love how vivid these colors are together! For the base, I used Balmy Blue. For the layer on the base, I used Petunia Pop. The pockets are created from the Full of Life 6×6 DSP. I love this paper so much! I also used Basic White for the inserts, word layer, the back and the die cut leaf. The ribbon is Petunia Pop as well.

Here’s how to create this simple card.

CUTTING/SCORING
BASE (Balmy Blue): 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
LAYER FOR BASE (Petunia Pop): 4″ x 5 1/4″
DIE CUT LARGE POCKET (Full of Life DSP)
INSERT FOR LARGE POCKET (Basic White): 3 5/8″ x 5″
DIE CUT MEDIUM POCKET FOR INSERT (Full of Life DSP)
BACK (Basic White): 4″ x 5 1/4″
MISC Die cuts: Hearts, Leaf, Friend

ASSEMBLY: Cut and die cut all your pieces. Layer your base pieces and adhere together. Fold your large pocket on the score lines. Add a small amount of liquid glue or tear and tape to the edges and adhere to the base. Stamp your insert; I stamped with Balmy Blue and Petunia Pop! Punch a hole in the top and add some ribbon to create a pull tab for the insert. I used a bit of Petunia Pop ribbon. Also, stamp on your DSP medium pocket it you wish. Add your medium pocket the same way you did the large one. (Don’t forget to add the gift card or cash in that medium pocket!). Decorate the layer for the back of the card where your message will go. I stamped in Balmy Blue and Petunia Pop and glued on the outline of the heart. Lastly, add your front embellishments – the heart, the die cut “friend”, the leaf, and some bling. So cute, am I right!?!

Here are 3 more samples with totally different vibes!

I created this card using Berry Burst and Crushed Curry for the base. I used the same DSP for the front pocket. The stamps come from the Pocket Thoughts Stamp Set. I love how cute the cupcakes came out!! This is a basic card base; I just added the pocket on the front! The cupcakes are colored in with Pretty in Pink and Pecan Pie. The medium pocket was created with Crushed Curry cardstock I ran through an embossing folder and then die cut.

I created this card for my nephew’s graduation. The base is Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel. I used the same DSP and stamps. He’s going to love it!!

This last card ended up being one of my favorites. I used Pretty Peacock for the base and paired it with paper from the Thoughtful Journey Suite. The front boasts a floating panel, a piece of Pretty Peacock Ribbon and some brass butterfly embellishments. I used the smallest pock on the inside and layered it on a small piece of Pretty Peacock. Instead of a a gift card or cash, this little pocket has a sweet note inside. I stamped in Pretty Peacock and Wild Wheat. I love, love, love how this one came out!

What’s your fave?
