I recently added the Botanical Layers Photopolymer Stamps to my collection and couldn’t wait to create with them. I’ve enjoyed seeing so many great cards created using this set. I wanted to find a fun fold that would show off these beautiful images front and center, and this fold is perfect!
To create this card, I grabbed my Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper, some Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Whisper White Cardstock. I also used Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Crushed Curry Classic Stamp Pads since they coordinate perfectly with the DSP.
For reference, I cut and scored a piece of Pool Party Cardstock for you and marked all the cut/score lines. The second photo shows the base after it has been folded. Once you make a few, you’ll be able to make them easily!
INSTRUCTIONS:
Base: Cut cardstock 4 1/4″x 11″. First, cut a slit on each long side that is 1″ wide starting 1″ from the top edge and cutting down to the 6 1/2″ mark on your cutting arm. Then, turn your paper sideways and add the score lines at 1″ and 2″ as shown on the diagram above. This is done on each side. Score at the 6 1/2″ marks on each side from the edge to the slit. The final score line should be at the 5 1/2″ mark on the center section of the base. Refer to the cutting guide above so it makes sense! After you do this part, the rest is simple!
Sides: Cut cardstock 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ (x2); Cut DSP 3/4″x4 1/8″ (x2); Glue layers together
Center: Cut cardstock 2 1/8″x 4 3/8″ and Whisper White 2″x4 1/4″; Stamp your images on the Whisper White piece and then glue it to the cardstock.
Bottom: Cut cardstock at 7/8″x4 1/8″; cut Whisper White 3/4″x4″ (or if you don’t want a sentiment on this piece, you can layer another piece of DSP here); Stamp your images/sentiment on the Whisper White and glue the layers together.
Inside: Cut Whisper White 4″x4 1/4″; Stamp images/sentiments.
Assembly: Fold the card base as shown in the diagram above, and use a bone folder to burnish the edges. Adhere the side panels, bottom panels, center panels and inside. Now admire your handiwork! Cool, huh!
This fun fold can be used with so many types of stamp sets! You can swap out DSP, cardstock, add embellishments and use dimensionals to elevate the card even further!
On this card, I used the same stamp set and added Earthen Elegance DSP. My base is Copper Clay and the cardstock layer is Pretty Peacock, both papers match the DSP. I stamped in Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Moody Mauve and Pretty Peacock Classic Ink. Perfectly coordinated!
