I love the movie Under the Tuscan Sun starring Diane Lane (and who doesn’t love her!!)…it’s one of my very favorite movies. When I saw the Hills of Tuscany stamps in the Mini Catalog I knew it needed to be mine. These simple to use stamps create so many types of scenes. You can change up the color for sunset, sunrise or anything in between. The stamps include mountains/hills, trees, foliage, a Tuscan style home, clouds, sun…it’s just perfect!

When I create this card, I borrowed a tip I got from a fellow stamper and embossed the house in clear embossing powder to help it standout. This one simple addition made the card more than just stamped…it came alive a bit more. And, by using the garden arch die from the Garden Meadow Dies I was able to really showcase that pretty scene I created. Here’s how I did it.

CUTTING/SCORING:
BASE (Copper Clay): 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
FRONT (POETIC EXPRESSIONS DSP from the Mini Catalog, die cut with Garden Meadow Arch die): 5 1/4″ x 4″, Basic White 5″ x 3 3/4″
INSIDE LAYER (Wild Wheat): 5 1/4″ x 4″

ASSEMBLY: Cut, score and fold your base. Cut your layers. Using the Basic White for the front, stamp your scene. Start with the house. I stamped the house in Wild Wheat and Copper Clay. After stamping the house, run your Embossing Buddy across your paper to get rid of any static so your powder stays where it’s supposed to. The, re-stamp it in Versamark Ink. Pour the Clear Embossing Powder on it and set it with your Heat Tool. Once that is done, finish stamping the rest of your scene. I stamped the clouds in Boho Blue, the hills in Old Olive, and the trees in Garden Green. Then, I grabbed my Blending Brushes and brushed more Boho Blue on the clouds to soften them up, and Crumb Cake where the fields will be. Then, I switched back to stamping and stamped in my crops of lavender. The leaves are Old Olive and the lavender is Gorgeous Grape. (I used the same stamp that looks like a cluster of dots for both…just changed the ink colors). Once you’re done stamping the front, glue it to the DSP and attach it to the front of the card. Then all you have left is the stamping on the inside.

I’m looking forward to creating more scenes with this stamp set…I’m thinking a pretty sunrise/sunset and maybe incorporate the Rays of Light Stamp as a background. Now I just need to stream my favorite movie and complete the experience…and get all the feels!

Thanks so much for joining me today. Happy Crafting!
