Thanks for stopping by to learn how to make a Double Flap Card…it’s a card on top of a card. Simple to make and very customizable. I made this one quite feminine, but the beauty of this fold is that you can customize it any way you wish…so check out my other samples at the end. The Labeled with Love stamps are a great addition to your stamp stash…geared for birthdays, gift tags, all occasion …just an excellent stamp set that won’t break the bank! There’s also a bundle option so you can add either the punch or a set of 3 matching dies.

For these cards, I started with a base of Petunia Pop and layered Pretty in Pink and Basic White. The Ink is Petunia Pop and Pretty in Pink. I also added Pretty in Pink ribbon and gems…is there such a thing as too much pink??? Not for me apparently! Here’s a fun tip…color in the butterflies with some Clear Wink of Stella…it really looks so pretty.

Here’s how to create this card!

CUTTING/SCORING
MAIN BASE: Petunia Pop 5 1/2″ x 10″, score at 1 1/2″ and 5 3/8″
FRONT LAYER: Pretty in Pink 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″; DSP 5″ x 5 1/4″
FLAP LAYER: Pretty in Pink 1 3/8″ x 5 3/8″; DSP 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
MAIN BASE INSIDE: Pretty in Pink 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″; Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″

SMALL CARD: Petunia Pop 3 1/2″ x 7″, score at 3 1/2″
INSIDE/OUTSIDE LAYERS: Pretty in Pink 3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ (x2); Basic White 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ (x2)

ASSEMBLY
I find it easiest to cut, score and fold everything. Then, I like to do all my stamping. Once that is done all you have to do is glue all the layers together and add them to the main base and the smaller card. To add the small card to the front, apply glue just to the area that will adhere to the narrow slide flap. Don’t forget to add your embellishments and ribbon if you wish.

Here are some other samples.

For this sample, I created the base from Basic White and layered it with Summer Splash. Then, I added another layer of Basic White that I created my own background on by stamping the little presents and brushing on some additional Summer Splash using blending brushes. On the front I added a bow and a larger present.

I love how this sample came out. I paired Wild Wheat and Lost Lagoon with Thoughtful Journey DSP. I love those colors together. I die cut several plants and added them to the card. The tag came from the Unbounded Beauty Dies and I embellished this card with Brass Butterflies. The sentiment inside the main card is from one of my favorite new stamp sets called Hope You Know.

This card fold can be a great one for all kinds of card, stamps, papers and colors. I hope you enjoy making your Double Flap Card.

Happy Crafting!
