The inspiration for this card and video came while I was designing my two daughters’ Mother’s Day cards. I knew I wanted to use the super pretty Thoughtful Journey Suite…especially that 6×6 DSP, because it is stunning! I saw a similar card online and knew I needed to put my own spin on it and make two cards my daughters will absolutely love. I hope you love it too!

The Thoughtful Journey Suite of products is simply stunning. I just love the paper, especially that Thoughtful Journey 6×6 DSP. The soft colors are gorgeous. The stamps and dies work so well together to create beautiful arrangements that your creations are sure to look professional!

Stampin’ Up makes it so easy to match all your papers, inks, ribbon, markers and embellishments by color coordinating the products. You just can’t go wrong!! To create this card, I chose my DSP first and built my colors off of that. I paired Blackberry Bliss cardstock with Petunia Pop. I also used Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Fresh Freesia Alcohol Blends and a Fresh Freesia Stampin Write Marker and Old Olive Ink pad. Here’s how to create this card.

CUTTING/SCORING
BACK BASE (Blackberry Bliss): 11″ x 4 1/4″, score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
BACK BASE DSP (Thoughtful Journey): 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ (x2), 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ (x1)

FRONT BASE (Petunia Pop): 10 1/2″ x 3 1/4″, score at 4 1/2″ and 7 1/2″
FRONT MATS (Mossy Meadow): 4 3/8″ x 3 1/8″ (x1); 2 7/8″ x 3 1/8″ (x2)
FRONT DSP (Thoughtful Journey): 4 1/4″ x 3″ and 2 3/4″ x 3″

INSIDE PANEL (Basic White): 2 3/4″ x 3″

ASSEMBLY: Fold back base so that the longest portion is on the right. From left to right, you’ll have a mountain fold and then a valley fold. Next, add your DSP to that back base.

Next, fold your front base so that the longer section is on the left this time. You’ll have a mountain and then a valley fold. Stamp your Basic White piece – I colored my stamp with Stampin Write Markers (never use Alcohol Blends to color your stamps), gave it a huff, and stamped it onto the cardstock to create a soft pastel look. Add your DSP and Basic White to the coordinating mats. Then, add the matted pieces to the front base piece. Add some adhesive to the right panel of the front base and glue it in place. Then, add adhesive to just the left portion of the front base and adhere that to the top front of the card. If you glue everything down flat while the card is closed, everything will line up perfectly.

Now you’re ready to decorate the front. I die cut two leaf stems from Mossy Meadow cardstock and then two thistle flower stems on Basic White cardstock. I used alcohol blends (Old Olive and Fresh Freesia) to color the thistle flower stems. I attached those to the front of the card with some drops of liquid glue. I added a white ribbon and then layered my sentiment on top of that. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white. The dies are from Unbounded Love. I finished off the card with some Brass Butterflies. Gorgeous, right!!

I created this Mother’s Day card using Basic White, Blackberry Bliss and Petunia pop cardstock. I usedMemento Ink to stamp the inside image and color it in with Mossy Meadow and Fresh Freesia Alcohol Blends. I die cut the pieces for the front in Mossy Meadow and Basic White, and again colored the thistle stems in with Fresh Freesia and Mossy Meadow. The circle was die cut in Blackberry Bliss using a circle from the Stylish Shapes dies. The ribbon is Petunia Pop and I added some In-Color Shimmer Gems.

I cased this card from one I saw online and fell in love with. The back base is Pretty Peacock and the front base is Lost Lagoon. I used linen thread behind the sentiment.

Which one do you love the most? I can’t decide… love them all!
