It’s October and I can officially decorate! Fall is my favorite season. I love the colors, the temps, the clothes and Thanksgiving…my favorite celebration! The one thing I miss about traveling full time is having a huge dinner with 20 of my favorite humans, complete with decorated table and the yummiest food. However, even though I’m on the road most of the time, I still get to send some pretty cards and make sure all my favorite humans feel the love I have in my heart for them. How about we make the prettiest pop up card with the new Autumn Expressions Stamps, Dies and coordinating paper? I know you’re gonna love this one!
The Splendid Autumn Suite Collection called to me as soon as I laid eyes on it. It’s just beautiful. And the beauty of it also lies in the fact you can use it all year long. There’s just enough variety in the paper to use it well after Autumn is over. And, the stamps work past the season as well. For this card, I created a base of Garden Green and layered it will Crushed Curry. The Nested Essentials Dies we “essential” in creating the window that makes the Pop Up. Make sure to check out the end of the blog/video to see the other cards I created. I made one with each of the 3 Nested Essentials shapes. I bet you want to know how to make this one! Wait no more…

On this card, I used a different shape Nested Essentials Die. I also used the gorgeous Winterly Tree Tops Bundle and Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. I layered the paper on Crumb Cake Cardstock and stamped in Real Red. I used some leftover retired Sweet Sorbet Ribbon as well. The beauty of the dies is that you can cut the birds from the DSP…no stamping or coloring required.
This last sample uses a Mossy Meadow card base. I picked the plaid DSP from the Iconic Celebrations 6×6 paper. Then, to decorate the card, I used the decorative masks on the small and large trees from the Frosted Forest Bundle . I brushed them with Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the tag shape from Nested Essentials worked in the pop up. Do you see that pretty ribbon? That’s the Cherry Cobbler & Gold Ribbon…so pretty!
I know you’re going to enjoy this fun fold. It’s pretty simple, but you can use so many different dies to create the pop up. If you have the retired Stitched Shapes dies, the ovals are perfect as well. Let your creativity run wild on this one!!
Happy Crafting!
