It’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving Cards! Do the holidays creep up on you? I have to begin making my holiday cards early because otherwise, I know I’ll get caught up in life and run out of time!! Today’s card features a really cool top swivel card…no folding or scoring this time, but we still create a really cool card that you can use all year long for any occasion. I love this so much that I’ve already thought up a ton of ways to use it. And, I am pretty sure this will be my official Thanksgiving card this year!! Try this one out…you’ll love it!
How have I missed this card layout before? It’s so easy and so enjoyable to make. Also, it doesn’t use a ton of paper so you can easily crank out a stack of these in not time with minimal paper usage! I love that even more!! As I’ve mentioned, Fall is my favorite season. I love the changes Mother Nature makes happen, plus the coolness in the air and of course all the festivities we love! I’m one of those people who send cards for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas so I make quite a lot of cards between mid September through Thanksgiving in order to get them all done! This one will probably be my official Thanksgiving card because I love it so much!! Now you can make one as well….here’s how!
I use Thick Basic White Cardstock for the base so it’s sturdy. If you don’t have Thick White, you can use regular and if you want, just add an extra layer to the back of the card to cover up the brad…or not…it’s really up to your preference. I used Cherry Cobbler for the layers and paired it with the gorgeous Splendid Autumn 6×6 DSP. I also added a small bit of ribbon to create a “handle” for the swivel. The Autumn Expressions Stamps and Dies did most of the work with all their beauty!! I die cut the frame which is super cool. I also die cut some leaves from cardstock and DSP. I clustered them with a couple of Woven Golden Leaves…so pretty!! Don’t forget to finish off your card with some Gold Textured Adhesive Backed Dots.

EXTRAS: Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Ribbon, Gold Textured Adhesive Backed Dots, Woven Golden Leaves, Take Your Pick Tool or Hole Punch that makes tiny holes; and you must have brads to make the swivel work.
I used the Nest of Winter Suite of products to create this sample. I layered Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake….a pretty combo for sure! One of the dies cuts out the birds from the DSP too that was such an easy way to create a wow on the card front. I got the shapes for the base from Nested Essentials Dies. I also embossed an extra layer of Crumb Cake on the top using the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder. I created the optional insert for this card as well. **You could also create a pocket on this to insert a gift card or cash! There are so many possibilities.
I used the beautiful Regal Winter DSP and coordinating Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty DSP of this card. The gold accents in the Regal Distressed Patterns paper are so pretty. The outside Greeting is from the Peaceful Seasons Stamp Set. I fussy cut it and attached it to the Gold Foil tag cut from the Coordinating Dies. I love that it has cutouts for ribbon or paper. The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon, On this card, I created an insert with a sentiment from Greetings of the Season and then added a panel on the back to write a message. **Note that the coordinating dies for Greetings of the Season is full of very useful tag dies that you can use all year around…I love that!
I promised to show you some other cards I made with the Splendid Autumn Suite and then forgot to show them to you in the video…ooops!! Well, here they are!! See how versatile these are. From simple to stepped up…there are endless variations.
Enjoy that Fall Feeling and Happy Crafting!
