It’s a busy time of the year for sure so why not have a really simple, yet eye popping card layout to carry you through those super busy times when You need a few cards quick!! I love love love this layout because it showcases your Designer Series Papers. This layout is absolutely perfect for the Sweetly Scripted Stamps, but if you don’t have them no problem…just use something else. I love the Sweetly Scripted stamps though. I think you’ll enjoy making these.
I love this fold AND the Sweetly Scripted stamps so much that I actually made a sample for each of the 6 stamps in the stamp set. I love how many occasions these 6 simple stamps cover.
This card was created with a Smoky Slate base and the triangles are layered in Night of Navy cardstock and Take to the Sky DSP. I added some silver embellishments. I added a layer of Night of Navy inside to make the Basic White carsick really pop. The inside sentiment and airplane comes from the Adventurous Sky stamps.
Now, let me give you all the details you need to create your own Split Triangle Layout Cards.
CUTTING/SCORING
BASE: (Smoky Slate) 8 1/2″x5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
CARDSTOCK TRIANGLE: (Night of Navy) 4 1/4″x3 1/4″, with 3 1/4″ at top, cut from top right corner to bottom left corner.
DSP TRIANGLE: (Take to the Sky) 4″x3″, with 3″ at top, cut from top right corner to bottom left corner.

Here are all the samples cards and what I used to create each one!
This was the first card I created…a little simpler than the main card I demonstrated. I used Smoky Slate, Copper Clay and Take to the Sky DSP. I just added a small strip of scrap paper inside on this one. I wanted to show you that you can step these cards up and down and still have great cards!
I love this sample. It’s so sweet. I used Bubble Bath for the base and layered Fresh Freesia Cardstock under the Designer Series Paper – which is Bright & Beautiful. I stamped in Fresh Freesia and added some coordinating embellishments. I love the Bright & Beautiful DSP…there’s something for every type of card in that 6×6 paper pack. The inside sentiment comes from the Friends for Life stamp set.
This glam little card was created by starting with a Lost Lagoon base and layering Gold Metallic Cardstock with Seasons of Elegance DSP in the Pretty Peacock shade. I embossed the greeting and sentiment in Gold embossing powder. The sentiment inside comes from the Country Birdhouse stamp set. To finish off this card, I added some gold metallic gems.
I created this sample on a base of Crushed Curry. The triangles are layers of Balmy Blue and retired Petal Park DSP. The inside sentiment comes from the Hope You Know stamps.
I love this one. The base is Basic White. The triangles are layers of Early Espresso and Wildly Flowering DSP. The inside sentiment comes from the Hope You Know stamps. I finished it off with some Moody Mauve embellishments.
This sample came out so elegant. I love the simplicity of it. The base is Very Vanilla and the triangles are layers of Basic Black and Seasons of Green & Gold DSP. I added some gold embellishments on the front. The inside sentiment comes from the Sentimental Park stamps. I created a second set of triangles for the inside and you could make the one on the right a pocket to slip in the “save the date” details! Versatile!!
Let me know which one is your favorite! Try this layout out…I think you’ll love it! I’m planning to add layout videos a couple times a month because I think we can all benefit from layouts along with all those great fun folds. Sometimes you want to craft a long time and sometimes you want to pop together a quick card so I want to give you both options!
Happy crafting!
